Main School is split into two age groups- Juniors (ages 7-11) and Seniors (ages 12-18). Each week Main School students have one hour of drama, one hour of dance and one hour of singing. The students work together towards a Christmas showcase at the end of the first term and rehearse for a bigger production in the Summer term.
Main School Drama explores a range of dramatic techniques such as improvisation, character development, script writing, monologues and duologues, physical theatre and devising. We aim to improve confidence and performance skills in each session, particularly looking at vocal projection and stage presence.
Main School Dance focuses on a different theme each term, whether that’s a particular style, telling a story through dance or dancing to music from popular musicals. The students learn energetic routines using powerful dance styles within the urban industry. Whilst learning the choreography they will also gain new dance skills and build confidence in their sessions. There might even be a dance battle or two!
Main School Singing works on strengthening vocal technique through lots of fun and engaging singing exercises and warm ups. The students have the opportunity to choose which songs they would like to learn in their sessions meaning a range of styles can be explored depending on the interests of the group.
Dance Squad is open to young people aged 12-18 who want extra performance opportunities throughout the year.
The class develops the students’ strength, flexibility and coordination, whilst also improving their stamina and confidence. Our Dance Squad students learn high energy routines in urban styles such as Hip Hop, Commercial, Breaking and Street dance and perfect their technique ready to perform at various local events.
We believe gaining experience performing in front of an audience at different locations can really boost young people’s confidence, challenges them, and develops a supportive environment where teamwork is key.
Little Wonders is our youngest group for ages 4-6.
During the weekly sessions we have lots of fun through games, dance, drama and singing. We’ll play with costumes, props, music and movement in a space where they can let their imagination and creativity go wild.
We feel it’s important for our youngest students to have the opportunity to perform too, and we love showing parents, grandparents, friends and family what they’ve been working on.
